Making Music Everyday

Choral director, tenor, and pianist Benjamin Rorabaugh heralds from Long Beach, MS. He recently took on a new role as Middle School choir director at Presbyterian School of Houston. Previously, Rorabaugh taught private voice at Johnson University (Knoxville, TN) and Tennessee Wesleyan University. He holds degrees from the University of Mississippi (Master of Music) and Harding University (Bachelor of Music Education). His varied background includes teaching piano, teaching voice, accompanying, directing, and performing. He has a driving energy to engage with people through music, seeking to bring the personal best out of those around him.

In addition to his full-time duties at Presbyterian School, Rorabaugh still maintains a private studio and performs locally in the Houston area.

Recent and Upcoming Work

In 2023, Rorabaugh directed Oak Ridge High School's Masquers March performance of The Lightning Thief, a musical in which he served as the music director and rehearsal/pit pianist. He spent his summer at The Ohio Light Opera, where he sang the role of Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore. Most recently, he took on his new role as the Middle School Choir Director at Presbyterian School. He also made an appearance as an accompanist/pit pianist in TPSMEA's Middle School Honor Choir Clinic and the John Cooper School's production of Shrek!

This new year saw Rorabaugh in his first production with the Houston Grand Opera as a chorus member in Parsifal. He happily anticipates what this new year will bring him professionally.
