Praised for his "blissful naïveté" (Arts Knoxville review of Heartbreak Express), tenor Benjamin Rorabaugh heralds from Long Beach, Mississippi. Recent performances include the Knoxville premiere of George Lam's Heartbreak Express (Marble City Opera), sharing his original concert program, “Songs of the Greatest Generation,” in Indianapolis with Vickery Chamber Live; performing with the Knoxville Opera Chorus and Amadeus Chamber Ensemble; and singing in various outreach events for Marble City Opera. Some of his full operatic roles include Travis (George Lam's Heartbreak Express), Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore), Harlequinade (Salieri’s Eine kleine Harlequinade), Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) and various comprimario roles in The Ballad of Baby Doe. He currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he teaches at Johnson University and LeGrand Music Studios. He holds degrees from the University of Mississippi and Harding University, where he studied music performance and music education, respectively. During his academic studies, he consistently placed in state and regional NATS auditions.
